This presentation summarises the findings of the two-stage project investigating thermal bridging in external timber-framed walls. Includes the stage one findings that there is higher timber content in walls than generally predicted, potentially meaning walls do not perform as well as expected. Includes work with framing detailers which found most timber content is driven by regulatory requirements, modeling of wall performance, and investigation of alternative wall solutions.
